Tonight I decided to make snickerdoodle cookies to bring into work tomorrow. Obviously I didn’t have cream of tartar but they turned out perfect. Snickerdoodles were my go-to baking recipe growing up. I would make them for my class whenever there was an event (like valentines day) or when my mom was cooking and wanted to spend time with me. I first taught myself the recipe at my moms house in Bellport when we rented a house for a couple of summers. It was my Stepfathers favorite recipe and he would make the special request every now and then.

Here a quick step by step break down

  1. cream together 2 sticks of unsalted better and 1.5 cups sugar
  2. Add 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  3. stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt \
  4. in a small bowl mix together sugar and cinnamon
  5. roll into small balls and drop into sugar/cinnamon mixture
  6. Press down in the center of the ball if you want the cookie to lie flat
  7. Bake for 10 min. 🙂
